Unless you’re a particularly avid Mac user, you’ll almost certainly have come across what has become universally known as Window’s ‘Blue Screen Of Death’ – the screen you’re greeted with when your PC encounters a serious problem or error and needs to restart. A source of particular frustration for Windows users, the screen has remained the same across all versions of Windows OS for years – that is, until Windows 8 hits the stores.

Microsoft have finally given the Blue Screen Of Death a redesign for the latest version of Windows, offering up something a little more friendly and a little less worrying:


Perhaps not as useful to those who are familiar with lines of code, the message is certainly more user-friendly when it comes to the average PC user, and the ‘You can search for the error online’ section is an excellent idea for helping the majority of people figure out what’s wrong with their computer.
