I bet some of the folks at RIM are thankful for the weekend. After such a tumultuous week, who wouldn’t welcome a bit of rest and relaxation? RIM posted its second quarter earnings last week, and we finally get a glimpse of how badly sales are going. The measly 200,000 Playbook units sold brought about speculations of a firesale, which means RIM is taking a loss for the device. Shortly after all those, a few BlackBerry services malfunctioned including the BlackBerry Messenger.

BlackBerry’s Twitter account (@BlackBerryHelp) admitted and apologized for the BBM issues (for) some Canadian and Latin American customers. But if people’s replies to the BlackBerry Twitter account are real, then the damage extends to far outside those two locations. And while BlackBerry simply labels it as a BBM problem, it seems other features are affected like emails and web browsing among other things.

Did you experience this most recent BBM outage? If so, how do you feel – Do you feel more productive because it’s one less distraction, or near insane because you can’t message someone from the other side of the pond? Let us know in the comments!
